The .17 HMR heavy buffer upgrade is a replacement for the standard buffer contained in the recoil cassette and should be used when the rifle features a lightweight fire control group only which is included in this package. This stainless steel, heavier buffer properly balances the firearm when the trigger features a lightweight hammer and/or lightweight hammer spring and will result in reliable cycling of the action.
