These Javelin slugs are designed to travel long distances with minimal influence from external factors. To do this, these slugs feature a tangent ogive and smooth shank which reduce drag through the air. Uniformity and consistent density means weight distribution and balance will provide stable flight, even in turbulent conditions. This ensures an optimum BC across a broad range of barrel designs, twist rates and velocities.

This second generation Javelin slugs underwent some changes to improve performances:

• Hollow point shape and depth have been redesigned to provide better expansion and weight distribution
• Meplat has been rounded-off for improved aerodynamics
• Base has been redesigned for more stability in turbulent conditions
• Tighter tooling tolerances enforce consistency between batches

These improvements, the smooth finish and well-thought-out ogive of the Javelin Gen 2 airgun slugs, give them a ballistic coefficient of 0.073.

These hard-hitting Javelin Gen 2 airgun slugs in 5.5 mm (.217) 21 grain have been developed by a team of specialists of Patriot, based in South Africa.
