Fällkniven are a true family business, with their roots deep in the soil of Norrbotten, Sweden. They have been hunters and fishermen for decades and they know from personal experience how a knife should be. The company was founded by Peter Hjortberger in 1984 and is today acknowledged as one of Sweden’s foremost knife specialists.

The Fällkniven A1 is a solid outdoor knife that has more than proven itself. An outdoor sword. That is what it feels like when you hold the A1. And yet, the A1 has been a popular fixed knife amongst bushcraft and survival enthusiast and hunters for years.

The blade of the Fällkniven A1 is no less than 15.8 cm long. This is more than enough for various demanding outdoor tasks. Think of processing pieces of wood or building shelter. Because of the blade thickness of 6 mm the Fällkniven A1 can handle almost anything you make it do. The blade is made from a core of VG10 steel laminated in between two layers of softer steel. As such the A1 retains its sharpness well, while at the same time it is a lot tougher than with a mono-steel construction.

The edge of the Fällkniven A1 is enhanced with a convex grind. This means that the blade is curved towards the edge. The result is an incredibly strong and sharp edge. To maintain this edge we recommend stropping it in time.

The handle is made from Thermorun. This is a rubber-like plastic that offers you enough grip. The fact that Fällkniven took the arctic climate of Sweden into account is clear when you look at the construction of the handle. The tang of the blade, the steel part that is located in the handle, is wrapped in Thermorun. As a result your hands won't freeze to the knife in very low temperatures. Even in the heat this works well because your hands won't burn if the knife was left in the sun for a while. So very well thought-out.

The Fällkniven A1 comes with a solid Zytel sheath with a belt loop. It is meant for right-handed use.
