Buck Gardner 'Grey Ghost' Single Reed, Poly, Black/Black

Built off Buck Gardner's tried and true Grey Ghost acrylic goose call, this call is designed with a shorter barrel and insert geared for producing lightning-fast double-clucks and a higher pitch for loud, ringing honks that stand out from the crowd.

Polycarbonate is essentially bulletproof plastic, similar to Plexiglas®. Its dense composition gives it excellent acoustic qualities with a softer sound than the Acrylic, it is highly durable so very unlikely to crack when dropped, and it is affordable for both manufacturers and hunters.

The extra-tough polycarbonate insert is hand-tuned with our Quick Tune guts. The Quick Tune guts system makes it easy to disassemble, clean, and reassemble the call, even when field maintenance is required.

Single reed calls offer a broader range of volume and tone, but they typically require better air control and correct tongue pressure on the part of the caller. Simply put, a single reed call is more versatile but requires solid mechanics. Single reed calls can normally get louder than double reed calls can.

Pro Tip:

Duck hunters benefit from using both single and double reed calls. Different hen mallards have different tones, so being able to vary the sound of your calling will play to your advantage – especially on pressured ducks.
